Sweet Mozzarella may have a playful name, but his story is one of loyalty, survival, and quiet strength.

Born around September 18, 2016, this precious Jack Russell was found alone in a field, except he wasn’t truly alone. His devoted companion, Marvin, refused to leave his side. 💔🐾 That kind of loyalty tells you everything about the kind of souls these boys are.

Mozzarella is the definition of gentle resilience. He’s a soft, quiet senior who finds joy in the simple things: warm blankets, peaceful naps, and the comfort of knowing he’s safe. His eyes carry the weight of hard days, but they also hold hope.

💛 Mozzarella is looking for a very special adopter, someone who understands and loves special needs seniors.

He is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, which is fully covered through Happy Paws Haven’s preferred veterinary partners. His last injection was in January, and he will need about six months from that date before he is officially heartworm negative. His adopter will simply need to bring him to scheduled follow-up appointments — we will cover the medical care.

Because of existing dental disease, he cannot safely undergo a dental cleaning until he is heartworm negative. That means patience, understanding, and a commitment to continuing his care are essential.

Mozzarella doesn’t need excitement.
He doesn’t need chaos.
He doesn’t need perfection.

He needs:
• A quiet home
• A calm environment
• Someone home often
• A heart big enough for a senior with medical needs
• A peaceful place to live out the rest of his days
